The Talbot County Chamber of Commerce Luncheon Committee is pleased to announce that Chris Funk, Special Agent , United States Secret Service will be the guest speaker at the Thursday, January 21, 2010 Luncheon. Agent Funk will be explaining the function of the Secret Service and discussing Counterfeiting, crimes against the U.S. Treasury Department and the protection role of the Secret Service. Chris Funk is a Special Agent, at the Baltimore Field Office and has been an agent for 12 years. He has also been assigned to the following offices:

Agent Funk is a graduate of Salisbury 'State' University, 1996

Tuesday Leads Group Seeks New Members
The Tuesday Leads Group at the Talbot County Chamber of Commerce is hosting an open house on January 19 as it looks for new members in a variety of professions. The open house will be 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the chamber's offices in Easton Plaza, 101 Marlboro Avenue, Suite 53, Easton, MD 21601..
Leads groups are organized to help members grow their businesses by exchanging referrals, tips and other information. Memberships are limited to one person from any particular profession or business.
The Tuesday Leads Group, headed by Anne Cassidy, an AFLAC insurance broker, meets at 8:30 a.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. At each meeting, one member presents an educational program and another member discusses his or her own business in some detail. Learning about each other's businesses enables members to offer better tips, leads and other help to each other.
The group is looking for new members from the following areas: commercial real estate, electrical contracting, plumbing, general contracting, handyman services, cleaning services, group benefits specialist, landscaping, information technology, auto mechanics and florist.

Directed by Richard A. Vitanovec, the Adventures of Tom Sawyer is written by Ken Ludwig with music and lyrics by Don Schlitz. Opening Night is Friday, January 22 at 7 PM at the Easton High School. H1N1 FLU CLINICS TO BE HELD JAN. 19 - 22
Free H1N1 Flu Clinics will be held from 8a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan.19, through Friday, Jan. 22, at the Talbot County Health Department.
The department is located at 100 S. Hanson St. in Easton. It is important to wear short sleeves to the clinic. People may bring a completed H1N1 Consent and Record from www.talbothealth.org |
SU TO HOLD OPEN HOUSE AT EASTERN SHORE HIGHER EDUCATION CENTER
Representatives from Salisbury University will be available to meet with prospective students during the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center's open house 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20.
SU offers programs in elementary education, educational leadership, social work and business at the center, located on the campus of Chesapeake College in Wye Mills.
