Upon entering Talbot County one cannot help but notice the lush green fields of soybeans and corn of summer. As fall approaches, since we are located on the Atlantic Flyway, you can anticipate the arrival of Canada Geese and a wide variety of ducks. Talbot's five beautiful rivers and numerous rambling tributaries proved over 600 miles of shoreline. Nature's gifts of waterfowl, songbirds, and vibrant sunsets are abundant in this diverse county.

Our creeks and rivers also offer an ideal setting for hunting, in addition to geese and ducks the hunt goes on for other waterfowl, deer and a variety of small game in season.

The natural amenities of the County are enhance by all type of recreational activities including water sports, bicycling, golf, tennis, hunting and ice skating. Bicycling is a favorite getaway for many who visit the area. Talbot County has many picturesque back roads to tour as well as bicycle lanes along the Oxford and St. Michaels roads.

If golf is your game there are two public courses, Hog Neck Golf Course features an 18-hole Championship golf course as well as 9-hole Executive course ready to test your golfing skills. The Easton Club 18 Hole Championship Golf Course is a par 71, 6,501 yard layout. The course features stately trees, dramatic waterscapes, Bermuda grass fairways and a challenging island green. A variety of design features and strategic elements make The Easton Club an outstanding experience for all golfers. Local private courses include the Harbourtowne Golf Course, designed and built by the legendary golf course architect Pete Dye. The beautiful 18-hole course is a challenging test of a golfer's skills, and the Talbot Country Club near Easton.

Talbot County offers a myriad of things to do with historic homes and attractions, museums, and cultural facilities this area is attractive to all ages. In a 14 mile stretch between St. Michaels and Tilghman Island there are quaint little villages to explore such as Claiborne, Wittman, and Sherwood.

There is no other place on the Eastern Shore like Talbot County when it comes to boating. The Wye, Miles, Tred Avon, Choptank, and Tuckahoe rivers outline the county on three sides. Three historic port towns, St. Michaels, Tilghman, and Oxford are perfect stopping points for visiting by water. Boat rentals, sightseeing vessels, and fishing charters can be arranged for an exciting and enjoyable day on the Chesapeake Bay.
