Demolition Begins on Talbot County Business Center
Demolition of the former Talbot County Business Center is underway. Reynolds Excavating Inc., the prime contractor for Phase Two of the Airfield Modernization Program, obtained the necessary demolition permit from the Town of Easton on March 5, 2025, clearing the way for immediate tear-down activities. Contractors are on-site with heavy equipment, and work has commenced. The public will see exterior structures coming down in the coming days.
All required environmental testing and mitigation have been completed in accordance with state and federal regulations. AECOM, the engineering and project management team for the Airfield Modernization Program, has reviewed all environmental mitigation documentation and confirmed compliance with the Environmental Management Plan, as mandated by the Maryland Department of the Environment’s (MDE) Voluntary Cleanup Program. No hazardous or toxic materials remain in the building.
This demolition is a key milestone in Phase Two of Easton Airport’s Airfield Modernization Program. Most of the structure is expected to be dismantled by spring 2025, with site work and material recycling continuing throughout the year. The project is fully contained within airport property, ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding community. Airport operations will continue without interruption.
The public is reminded that all businesses and former tenants of the Talbot County Business Center have successfully relocated. To ensure safety, the site will remain off-limits to unauthorized personnel for the duration of the project.
Easton Airport remains committed to safety, modernization, and economic growth. For ongoing updates, please visit www.eastonairport.com.
